1 min read

Robin Myers has been named chancellor of the Arkansas State University campus in Mountain Home, ASU System President Charles Welch announced Monday.

The appointment follows a nearly three-month search process that attracted 69 applicants. Myers will begin his duties at ASU-Mountain Home on Aug. 1.

Myers has been as president of Arkansas Northeastern College since 2005, and has filled other roles at the college since 1989. He received bachelor of science degrees in marketing and accounting from Arkansas State University, a master of science degree in operations management from the University of Arkansas, and a doctor of education degree from the University of Memphis.

"My education and experience have prepared me for this opportunity and I am grateful for all of the wonderful support I have enjoyed over these past years," Myers said. "I am both excited and honored to have been selected to lead Arkansas State University-Mountain Home."

Welch said Myers stood out because of his proven track record as the CEO of a community college campus, his local and statewide leadership, and his ability to communicate the vision and potential of the institution to multiple constituencies.

"I have had the great fortune of working with Robin for a number of years and I can personally attest to his abilities and his reputation as a leader in Arkansas higher education," Welch said. "I have no doubt that he is the absolute perfect fit for our college at this time."
