Rodney O. Parks of Little Rock was elected chairman of the Arkansas State Banking Board on Jan. 18.
The board works with the Arkansas State Bank Department “to accurately and fairly consider all applications and proposed regulations presented … in a proper and timely manner and to ensure the continuance of safe and sound financial practices in the state chartered banking industry of Arkansas.”
Parks, 42, was appointed to a five-year term on the board by Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe in 2009.
Parks has spent the past four years working as Philander Smith College’s director of development, and also is the founder of Parks Professional Group, a public speaking/management firm. He is a native of Russellville.
