Rogers’ LPGA Event Closed to Spectators

The 14th Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, a three-day LPGA Tour, will be played without fans on the course this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event is scheduled for Aug. 28-30 at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers with a field of 156. The tournament announced earlier that year that its prize pool would increase to $2.3 million, including $345,000 for the champion, making the NW Arkansas Championship one of the tour’s most lucrative non-major events.

Fans will still be able to watch the tournament on the Golf Channel, which will broadcast all three rounds including live coverage Saturday and Sunday.

“The LPGA family always loves our week at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G, and the amazing fans in Rogers make it such a special experience,” said LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan. “While this year’s tournament will certainly be different, I cannot thank Walmart and Procter & Gamble enough for their unwavering commitment to our players, as evidenced by this year’s purse increase and by providing them a valuable opportunity to compete during this limited season.
