Rose Law Firm of Little Rock and Fayetteville will merge with Smith Hurst PLC of Rogers, and the two will jointly operate as Rose Law Firm, effective April 1.
Rose Law Firm’s David S. Mitchell Jr. will continue to lead the combined firm.
Smith Hurst is bringing seven attorneys to the merger. Managing Partner Rebecca Hurst will lead the firm’s northwest Arkansas locations and join its executive committee. Founding Partner Jim Smith will serve as of counsel.
Rose Law Firm, which celebrated its 200th anniversary last year and has about 30 attorneys, said the deal would expand its capabilities in northwest Arkansas and bolster its ability to serve high net worth families as well as support large and small businesses across the state.
Hurst said the firms have complementary practice areas and share the same values. In a news release, she called the merger “a truly historic moment.”
