The combined 2014 dollar volume of the 10 largest residential realty concerns in Arkansas declined by about 1.6 percent compared with 2013.
These companies accounted for nearly $3.8 billion in total sales and listings last year.
Half of the top 25 agencies reported modest gains or better for 2014.
Baxley-Penfield-Moudy Realtors of Bryant made the biggest climb up the list, moving to No. 12 with sales volume of $107.4 million. The ascent was powered by a nearly $18.8 million (21.1 percent) increase in business during 2014. A year ago, the agency ranked No. 18 with 2013 sales volume of $88.6 million.

Tom Baxley, the firm’s co-owner and managing broker, attributed the good year to a sales surge during the second half of 2014. That momentum, provided primarily by Saline County home sales, has carried into 2015.
“We’re seeing about a 15 percent growth into the first five months of 2015,” Baxley said. “We feel like there’s been a lot of pent-up demand in our market. Job growth continues to be good along with the growth in shopping and service developments.”
