Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has announced plans to appoint Eric Jackson, Trey Berry and Rebecca Lentz to the Arkansas State Parks, Recreation, and Travel Commission.
Each of the appointments will expire on Jan. 14, 2029.
Jackson is being reappointed. Berry will replace John Gill, and Lentz will replace Skot Covert.
Jackson is senior vice president at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort and serves on the board of directors. He also serves on the Hendrix College board of trustees, CHI St. Vincent board of directors and Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce board
Berry is the 12th president of Southern Arkansas University. Before coming to SAU, he spent two years as deputy director of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, two years as a dean at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, and 18 years as a faculty member and administrator at Ouachita Baptist University.
Lentz is a advocate for outdoor recreation who is known for showcasing Arkansas’ natural beauty on her social media platforms. She’s a former diesel mechanic in the Texas Army National Guard who moved back to Arkansas and became a personal trainer.
