Sanders Names 5 More Appointees

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has announced the following appointments:

  • Coleman Taylor, of Johnson, to serve as the Justice of the Peace for District 1 for Washington County. Term expires on Dec. 31, 2024. Replaces Lance Johnson.
  • Larry Brown, of Cave City, to serve as the Justice of the Peace for District 9 for Sharp County. Term expires on Dec. 31, 2024. Replaces Todd Price.
  • Ron Stoval, of Texarkana, to serve as the Justice of the Peace for District 7 for Miller County. Term expires on Dec. 31, 2024. Replaces Jimmy Hickey Sr.

Special justice appointments:

  • Mary Carole Young, of Little Rock, to serve as the Special Justice of the Supreme Court of Arkansas, to replace Chief Justice Dan Kemp for the case styled CV-22-670, Damien Echols v. State of Arkansas.
  • Cody Kees, of Little Rock, to serve as the Special Justice of the Supreme Court of Arkansas, to replace Justice Rhonda K. Wood for the case styled CV-22-599, Rolandis Chatmon v. Dexter Payne, Director, Arkansas Department of Corrections.
