Sellars, Snowden Recognized by Children’s, UAMS (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Elizabeth Sellars and Dr. Jessica Snowden have been invested by Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Sellars is the recipient and steward of the Committee for the Future Endowed Chair in Medical Genetics. Snowden is the recipient and steward of the Horace C. Cabe Distinguished Chair for Infectious Diseases.

Sellars currently serves as section chief of genetics and metabolism at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and as an associate professor of pediatrics and genetics and metabolism in the UAMS College of Medicine. She also serves as the medical director of the In Support, Teamwork, Education and Partnership, or INSTEP, Clinic and as the co-medical director of the Neurofibromatosis Clinic at ACH.

Snowden currently serves as chief of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases in the College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics at UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She is also vice chair of research of the Department of Pediatrics and associate director for clinical and translational research at Arkansas Children’s Research Institute.

Amy Jo Jenkins has joined the Rockefeller Cancer Institute to lead the early phase clinical trials at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

In this role, Jenkins will direct early phase clinical research, including operations, staffing, trial management and execution, and business development. She previously served as chief of staff in the office of Dr. Cam Patterson, UAMS chancellor.


Daraspreet Kainth
Dr. Daraspreet Kainth of Mercy Clinic in Fort Smith ()

Dr. Daraspreet Kainth has joined Mercy Clinic in Fort Smith as a neurosurgeon.

Kainth previously practiced in Ohio and completed neurosurgical training at the University of Minnesota, as well as fellowships in endovascular surgical neuroradiology and integrated neurosurgery/orthopedic spine surgery.

Kainth obtained his bachelor’s degree in human biology from Stanford University and then received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is board-certified with the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
