Jason Rapert Named CEO of ULockIt Security Devices

1 min read

ULockIt Security Devices of Conway announced Monday the appointment of Jason Rapert as its CEO. The company said it’s also looking at expanding sales nationwide.

Designed by a Conway law enforcement officer and a Conway school principal, ULockIt is a patent-pending security device built for interior doors for use in an active shooter situation. Hardware is mounted on the inside of the door, typically near its handle, and the U-shaped locking piece can be dropped into the receiver in seconds during an emergency.

Rapert is a Republican state senator from Conway.

“I am honored to be asked to take this successful Arkansas startup beyond our borders to protect innocent lives in schools, colleges and churches across the country,” he said in a news release. “The inventors of ULockIt had the foresight to address a pressing need and I am very proud to stand with them.”

Rapert founded his own Conway-based firm, Rapert Financial & Associates Inc. in 2010, and previously worked for Edward Jones Investments and Merrill Lynch. His firm assisted clients in 11 states and managed more than $40 million, according to the news release.

At the Legislature, Rapert is chairman of the Senate Insurance and Commerce Committee. He’s also vice president of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators and a member of the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission based in Washington, D.C.
