Sharon Strong Named Director of Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (Super Mover)

Sharon Strong has been hired as the director of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, Jim Hudson, secretary of the state Department of Finance & Administration, announced last month.

Background: Before joining DF&A, the parent agency of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, Strong was the senior assistant attorney general in the office of Attorney General Tim Griffin. She has also served as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Pulaski and Perry counties and was a staff attorney for the Public Service Commission and Disability Rights Arkansas. “I am thankful to the Governor and Secretary Hudson for the opportunity to lead the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery,” Strong said. “Lottery has a senior leadership team with decades of experience and institutional knowledge. Working as a team with all stakeholders, the Lottery will positively impact future generations of Arkansans.”

Education: Strong obtained a Bachelor of Arts in public policy from Southern Methodist University. She earned her law degree from American University Washington College of Law.
