Signature Bank Picks Name, Site of Latino Bank

Signature Bank of Arkansas said its Latino-focused bank will be located in a historic building on South 1st Street in downtown Rogers.

The bank also announced the brand will be called Banco Si — Spanish for “Banking Yes” — and will be led by Francisco Herrero, who was named President of Banco Si. Signature Bank CEO Gary Head had hired Herrero, a longtime Walmart executive, earlier this year as the president of the bank’s multicultural banking.

“The momentum behind this banking effort is huge,” Herrero said. “We are doing more than providing translations during transactions — we are providing an immersive experience for minority communities to feel included. We are dedicated to truly serving our communities and look forward to unveiling more details when we are fully open for business.”

The 6,500-SF 1st Street building was built in 1906 and was the site of the city’s first bank, the Bank of Rogers. Signature Bank said it hopes to open the bank, which will be staffed entirely of bilingual employees, this summer before its official grand opening in September during Hispanic Heritage Month.

“We put a considerable amount of thought into the branding of this bank,” said Tori Bogner, vice president of marketing for Signature Bank. “Ultimately, ’Sí!’ became the perfect choice, not only because it radiates positivity to a segment of the market who has historically been told ‘no’ where finances are concerned, but also because the first two letters of ‘Signature’ are ‘Sí.’ ”
