1 min read

Simmons Foods Inc. on Monday marked the grand opening of its new 72,000-SF ingredient facility in Siloam Springs, a $30 million facility that the company expects will create 78 jobs.

“This wet ingredient facility is a model for the future of high-quality ingredient production for pet food manufacturers,” Simmons CEO Todd Simmons said in a news release. “This new facility enables our team here to safely and reliably produce the highest quality, customizable ingredients for Simmons Feed Ingredients’ customers.”

An affiliate of Simmons Foods, Simmons Feed Ingredients Inc. makes ingredients for pet food manufacturers. The affiliate operates another feed ingredient facility in Southwest City, Missouri.

The company broke ground on the project in 2015. It is receiving incentives from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, whose executive director, Mike Preston, attended Monday’s grand opening.

“Simmons Foods has a long history of investing in Arkansas,” Preston said. “Through the establishment of this new facility, the company is making another significant commitment to doing business in the state. Arkansas has a large presence in food processing and this expansion is a testament to our strength in this sector.”

Based in Siloam Springs, privately held Simmons Foods specializes in poultry, pet foods and feed ingredients. It is the sixth largest private company in Arkansas, according to Arkansas Business’ latest list of the state’s 75 largest private companies, with $1.4 billion in revenue and 5,800 employees.
