Simmons Foods Sees Revenue Increase in 2013

1 min read

Simmons Foods Inc. of Siloam Springs had a good 2013 as it grew revenue from $1.2 billion to $1.34 billion.

CEO Todd Simmons believes 2014 should show more of the same. Simmons said the private company is showing strong growth in the first half of this year.

“That dynamic of promoting the chicken trade in restaurant trade and in retail is likely to be even more significant this year than it was last year because of a lack of beef and pork in the marketplace,” Simmons said. “Our revenue growth is in the higher single digits so we’re having a nice year this year. We expect that to continue. We see demand in the food service industry continue to be more stable.”

Simmons said early returns are also positive on the company’s $20 million investment to convert one of its canning facilities to pet treat production. The new production line started at the end of 2013, and Simmons believes it will have sustained growth.
