Sismondo Brings Sports Med Experience to Jonesboro Orthopaedics (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Ronald Sismondo Jr. has joined Jonesboro Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, specializing in orthopedic surgery.

Sismondo obtained his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the State University of New York-Upstate Medical University Hospital.

Following residency, he completed his fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Sismondo has previously worked with the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, Houston Dynamo and the University of Houston as an assistant team physician.


Dr. Simon Mears of Little Rock, an orthopedic surgeon and professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine, has been inducted into the Hip Society, a national organization dedicated to the advancement of knowledge relating to the hip joint.

Mears will be inducted into the Hip Society in March in Orlando, Florida, at the 2020 annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Mears earned his medical degree and a doctoral degree in neurobiology from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his orthopedic residency at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland, as well as a second fellowship in hip and knee replacements at the Mayo Clinic.

Ravonne John, advanced practice registered nurse, recently joined Washington Regional Endocrinology Clinic in Fayetteville.

John earned a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Central Missouri and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Arkansas.

Chris Glover

Chris Glover has become the chief operations officer for TRS Healthcare in Springdale.

Glover is succeeding Caleb English, who has held a variety of positions for the past several years.

English will continue his involvement with the organization as chief financial officer.


Dr. Brad Lindsey has been hired as the medical director of Medical Center of South Arkansas Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center in El Dorado.

Lindsey received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He interned at the University of Arkansas AHEC program in Pine Bluff. His anesthesiology residency was at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

He is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology and board-certified in chronic pain management by the American Board of Pain Medicine. Lindsey is a fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Dr. Althea T. Conley has been hired as a medical director of Medical Center of South Arkansas Medical Withdrawal Management Program in El Dorado.

Conley has been practicing psychiatry in south Arkansas for more than 15 years. She graduated from medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis in the diagnosis and treatment of health-related and psychosomatic conditions from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Conley is a member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.


Danielle Taylor has been hired as the new executive director of the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement in Little Rock. She was previously senior HR director of compensation, classification and human resource information systems at UAMS.

Sandra McGrew is ACHI’s new director of external affairs. She was previously the director of content marketing at Ghidotti.

Josh Fraum has joined Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield in Little Rock as lead executive of Medicare markets. Fraum will lead the company’s strategy for all Medicare lines of business.
