Ecommerce technology firm SKU Ninja + WhyteSpyder of Rogers has been acquired by Ascential Plc, a specialist information, analytics and ecommerce optimization company headquartered in London.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
SKU Ninja + WhyteSpyder employs approximately 40 people. It is led by CEO J.S. Bull and Founder and Chief Growth Officer Eric Howerton. The firm services more than 80 brands sold on Walmart.com, utilizing a mix of technology-driven search engine optimization, retail insights, content management and hosting digital ads in a variety of forms. It is also a founding Walmart Connected Content Partner.
Ascential is listed on the London Stock Exchange, and SKU Ninja + WhyteSpyder will join its Digital Commerce business unit.
Ascential CEO Duncan Painter said in a news release, “SKU Ninja + WhyteSpyder’s specialism serving brands on Walmart’s rapidly scaling marketplace will accelerate our goal to build out deep cross-platform capabilities within our Digital Commerce business.
“Walmart represents one of the most significant marketplaces in North America, and WhyteSpyder’s expertise here, while complementary to our existing Amazon-focused capabilities, will provide further growth opportunities for our existing measurement and execution offerings in this region,” he continued.
Howerton said in the release that SKU Ninja + WhyteSpyder was started with $800 and that this deal is “a testament to Arkansas entrepreneurism, great people and captured global opportunities.”
