You may recall Arkansas Business reporting that Smart Eye Technology Inc., a continuous facial recognition software company, had relocated from Atlanta to Bentonville in 2023.
Now, the business has secured its third patent, specifically for its approach to continuous biometric authentication, a security process that verifies identity throughout an entire session, not just at an initial login.
The patent, founder and CEO Dexter Caffey said, strengthens the company’s leadership in continuous biometric authentication.
Caffey told Whispers the patent came at an important time as the company aims to scale up and serve more banks and managed service providers (MSPs), which handle private personal information.
Caffey said on social media that the new patent protects the company’s innovations behind its products SETI Mode Desktop and SETI Protect, as well as its application programming interface platform.
“Securing our third patent is another big step forward for Smart Eye and for northwest Arkansas innovation,” Caffey told Whispers. “It proves that world-class cybersecurity can be built right here in Bentonville, and it fuels our next stage of growth as we partner with more banks and MSPs nationwide.”
The patent process was facilitated by Greg Kirsch, a patent attorney out of Atlanta.
