Ben Mathewson has been hired by Stone Bank of Mountain View as vice president and U.S. Department of Agriculture government guaranteed loan officer. He is leaving North Avenue Capital of Boerne, Texas, where he has worked for more than eight years.

Will Carrouthers has been hired by Southern Bancorp Inc. of Arkadelphia as chief financial officer. He will oversee all financial functions, overall financial strategies, growth objectives and general financial operations. Brad Paul has been hired as the bank’s first Little Rock market president. He will lead the bank’s lending efforts and strategies in Little Rock and across central Arkansas.
Construction
Jeff Lee, managing partner of the North Little Rock location of ABC Supply Co. Inc. of Beloit, Wisconsin, has received the Ken Hendricks Award, the company’s top honor. He joined the company in 2010 and has been a member of its President’s Club since 2015.
Education
Angela Stanford has been appointed as the new dean of the School of Graduate Studies at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. She will oversee the growth and development of graduate programs while working to enhance academic offerings and opportunities for graduate students.
David Vila, a distinguished professor of religion and philosophy, has been named the inaugural Abila Endowed Chair in Archaeology & History of the Biblical World at John Brown University in Siloam Springs. He has also been selected as a Fulbright Scholar for the third time.
Maurice Gipson was promoted to president and chief executive officer of Philander Smith University in Little Rock. He had been serving as interim president and CEO since August after he was hired from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Government
Glen Fritsche, a petroleum geologist, has been appointed to the Arkansas Oil & Gas Commission as special commissioner. Lawrence Bengal has also been appointed to the commission.
John Newcomb of Osceola has been reappointed to the Arkansas Economic Development Council. He was first appointed in 2020 by Gov. Asa Hutchinson.
Health Care

Brian Jones has been hired by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock as vice chancellor for regional campuses. For eight years, he has been the president and chief executive officer of the SHARE Foundation of El Dorado.

Jayme Workman, a registered nurse at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, has received the Mercy Award from Lifepoint Health of Brentwood, Tennessee. She has worked in the emergency department and emergency department leadership for more than 30 years.

Dr. Jordan Hanberry, a board-certified urologist at Jefferson Regional in Pine Bluff, and his team have been recognized as an Axonics Center of Excellence by Axonics Inc. of Irvine, California.
Manufacturing
Blake Curry has been hired by Lexicon Inc. of Little Rock as multimedia producer. He has more than 10 years of experience creating print, digital, video and music content. Camryn Jacobs has been hired as content creator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Doug Watts has been hired by Central States Inc. of Waunakee, Wisconsin, as manufacturing president at the company’s Tontitown location. He will oversee operations, sales, logistics and customer service.

Stephen Bryant has been promoted to vice president of strategic sourcing and product strategy at Windsor Door of Little Rock. Previously, he was the supply chain director and has worked at the company for four years.
Trucking

Mac Pinkerton has been hired by ArcBest of Fort Smith as chief operating officer of asset-light logistics. He is leaving C.H. Robinson of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, where he has worked for 21 years.
