Sparks Adds Two to Fort Smith Neurology Team (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Mohammad Omar Owais and Dr. Vijayakumar Javalkar recently joined the neurology team at Sparks Health System in Fort Smith.

Owais is board certified in psychiatry and neurology and will treat patients suffering from epilepsy, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, muscular dystrophy, headaches and strokes.

Javalkar is board certified in neurology and will focus on general and vascular neurology.


Regina Burkett has been hired as community liaison by Absolute Care Management Corp. of Jonesboro. She previously spent 10 years as community development director, event planner and outreach coordinator for ARcare of Augusta.


Margaret Holm recently joined CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock as vice president of quality. Holm most recently worked at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston and has filled various roles at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and Intermountain Healthcare of Salt Lake City.


Dr. Lauren Nolen, an obstetrician/gynecologist, has joined the medical staff of Conway Regional Health System and of Conway OB/Gyn Clinic.

A native of Perryville and graduate of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, she received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, where she completed a four-year residency in obstetrics and gynecology.

Nancy Embry and Barbara Malott, registered nurses employed as lactation specialists in the Women’s & Infants’ Department at Conway Regional, recently earned their International Board Certified Lactation Consultant credentials.


Dr. Ryan E. Hall has joined the CARTI medical staff in Little Rock as a hematologist/oncologist. Hall, a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Little Rock, recently completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
