It may be a little early to say Little Rock wunderkind entrepreneur Spencer Jones, a member of the 2015 Arkansas Business 20 in Their 20s class, is returning to his roots. But the growth of his latest venture is allowing Jones to revisit the innovative nugget that got him started on his entrepreneurial path back in 2014.
You may remember that last week, Jones brought on a full-time COO and director of engineering for his latest venture, LineGard Med, which is marketing the SafeBreak IV to help prevent the dislodgement of feeding tubes, IV lines and other medical tubing from patients’ insertion sites.
Jones told Whispers that while SafeBreak continues with “solid backing and momentum,” its development is allowing him to devote more time to the BVAD system he developed before launching LineGard. BVAD is a system that enables nurses to draw IV fluids and blood in hospital patients from the same insertion site.
“We’ve transitioned manufacturers to a more design- and development-focused group, and there will likely be a small capital raise for the BVAD in the near future,” he said. “Ideally, we would license the BVAD to LineGard Med down the road, giving us a bigger product portfolio.”
