Privately held gas station and convenience store chain SQRL of Little Rock on Monday announced the acquisition of 210 stores across the nation.
A spokesperson for the company said it was a single transaction. The seller and the cost of the transaction were not disclosed.
The purchase brings the total number of SQRL stations to more than 350 across 14 states: Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
In a news release, SQRL — which stands for service, quality, relationships, and loyalty — said the acquisition makes it one of the fastest-growing U.S. companies of its kind.
“By expanding our network of fuel stations, SQRL will enhance convenience for our customers who rely on our locations for their daily commute or long-distance journeys,” Blake Smith, founder and chair of SQRL, said in the release. “Our new stores will be seamlessly integrated into SQRL’s existing infrastructure, ensuring a smooth transition to service our customers.”
The fuel chain’s website says it’s “revolutionizing the convenience store industry through laser-precision-tactical service models.” The company is is part of the SQRL Holdings portfolio of companies, which includes captive capital oil and gas firm Standard Energy Co. and Standard Media, the company’s outdoor advertising business.
