Stanley Nelson Recognized at Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival (Movers & Shakers)

Stanley Nelson, the documentarian behind “Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges & Universities,” received the Career Achievement Award in Documentary Film during the 26th annual Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival earlier this month.

Tommy May, chairman of the Simmons Foundation and former CEO of Simmons First National Corp., has been named chairman of the board of Go Forward Pine Bluff, whose membership was recently finalized.

Other officers include the following

  • Mary Pringos, vice chairman
  • Carla Martin, vice chancellor for finance and administration at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, assistant vice chairman
  • Alexandra Kosmitis, executive project manager at Simmons Bank, secretary/treasurer.
