Glo, a New Orleans startup public charter operator, announced Tuesday that it would begin offering flights beginning Nov. 15 servicing Clinton National Airport.
Glo’s public charter flights, operated by Corporate Flight Management Inc., will run daily, non-stop service from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport to Little Rock.
“We took a nontraditional route – using a startup company,” Ron Mathieu, executive director of the Clinton National Airport, said at an announcement at the airport on Tuesday. “In this market today we have to be more creative.”
The airline will also service Memphis International Airport and Shreveport Regional Airport.
“It’s time we restored non-stop air service to Gulf and Mid-South cities that should be easily connected for both business and leisure travelers — and Glo is proud to provide that service,” Trey Fayard, founder and CEO of Glo, said in a news release. “Glo was born out of the recognition that travel options in the South are incredibly limited by existing air carriers. Starting with three daily routes, we look forward to offering a more efficient, productive and comfortable travel experience.”
In anticipation of its launch in New Orleans, Glo will offer promotional one-way $189 fares.
CFM will operate 30-passenger Saab 340B aircraft on Glo’s new routes. According to the Saab Group, “The Saab 340B is a favorite among aircraft passengers, offering flexibility, comfort and reliability, while operators also value it for its cost-effective performance capabilities.”
Glo’s website is now up and running, and customers can purchase tickets.
