The department reported mixed results in major reporting sectors for sales tax collections. Motor vehicle sales tax collections were up 17% from year ago, while collections
in the utilities sector were down 17.9%, likely in part to the warmer-than-average weather.

The department said that individual withholding tax revenue decreased by $19.2 million from a year ago due to income tax cuts taking effect. Gaming tax revenue came in at $4.6 million, lower than in February 2023 and below forecast by about $600,000.
