Stephens Insurance LLC of Little Rock has acquired the Jonesboro insurance business formerly known as Town & Country Insurance Agency.
Town & Country merged with Centennial Insurance Agency when Centennial’s parent company, Home BancShares Inc. of Conway, acquired Town & Country’s parent company, Liberty Bancshares Inc., in 2013.
The deal with Home BancShares closed Jan. 1, at which point “most all” of Centennial’s Jonesboro employees joined Stephens Insurance, according to a press release. Terms of the purchase were not released, but Stephens Insurance President Marty Rhodes said he was “particularly pleased” to gain Dick Darouse, Bubba Barnett, Jim Agan and Floyd Morgan.
“All four of these producers have tremendous insurance experience in the NE Arkansas marketplace. It’s a great way to begin the year,” Rhodes said.
The renamed business will remain at 447 Southwest Drive in Jonesboro for the time being, Rhodes told Arkansas Business. Stephens Insurance, the largest insurance agency in Arkansas, is an affiliate of Stephens Inc. of Little Rock, which has had an office in Jonesboro since 2008.
