Stephens Media of Las Vegas announced Tuesday that Tom Stallbaumer will become publisher of the Times Record in Fort Smith on May 20.

According to a news release, Stallbaumer has been publisher of Las Vegas CityLife and Best of Las Vegas since April 2012. Before that, he was director of digital sales and marketing for Stephens in Las Vegas.

Stallbaumer was publisher of the Morning News in Springdale from 1994 to 2010.

“It’s going to be great to be back in Arkansas,” Stallbaumer said in a news release. “I am looking forward to working with the people there.”

He replaces Gene Kincy, who has been publisher of the Times Record for the past 20 years. Kincy will remain at Stephens to work on special projects, the release said.

The Times Record, a daily newspaper that dates to 1884, has a 12-month average circulation of 31,353, according to the Arkansas Press Association. Its coverage area includes 10 counties in western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma.

Stephens Media is owned by Little Rock’s Stephens family.
