The research department at Stephens Inc. recently expanded, opening an office in San Francisco that will focus on the specialty finance industry.
The team opening the new office will include John Hecht and Kyle Joseph. They will focus on specialty finance, including payday lending, pawnbrokers, business development companies and other consumer and commercial finance interests.
"This marks the second senior research team hired year-to-date," said Nik Fisken, Stephens Inc. EVP and director of research.
Fisken said both men were "nationally known and highly regarded professionals dedicated to research in a subsector that directly aligns with Stephens’ long-standing activity and expertise in specialty finance."
Hecht joins the company as a managing director and research analyst. He previously served as a managing director and senior research analyst in specialty finance at JMP Securities, based in San Francisco.
Joseph will join the team as a research associate. He also previously worked for JMP Securities as an associate-vice president.
