Steppe Mette Steps Up at UAMS (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Stephen “Steppe” Mette has been named executive associate dean for clinical affairs in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He will also continue his role as chief clinical officer for UAMS Medical Center.

Mette received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he served as chief resident. He also completed clinical and research fellowships in the Cardiovascular-Pulmonary Division of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Robert Hopkins Jr., a UAMS professor and division director in Little Rock, has been appointed to a four-year term on the National Vaccine Advisory Committee of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The committee recommends policies to the director of the National Vaccine Program.
