Steven Harper
Steven Harper will be the new dean of the University of Arkansas at Monticello School of Arts & Humanities.
Harper joins UAM from Georgia Southern University, where he was a professor of music and the chair of the Fred & Dinah Gretsch School of Music since 2014. Harper received his Doctor of Philosophy in music theory from the University of Texas at Austin.
Geoffrey M. Curran, a professor at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, has been awarded a Fulbright Specialist grant. Curran will use the grant to research implementation science in Ireland.
Caroline Kitchens is the new director of alumni relations at Arkansas Tech University of Russellville. Kitchens has been serving as interim director of alumni relations since May following the retirement of Kelly Davis. Before that, she was the director of annual giving programs at Arkansas Tech for seven years.
The University of Central Arkansas Alumni Association has appointed four new members to its board of directors: Carolyn Floyd Ishee, 1975; Aaron King, 2007; Jeremy Owoh, 2003; and Keith Svagerko, 1991. They each will serve three-year terms.
The Urology Care Foundation, the official foundation of the American Urological Association, recently awarded its distinguished mentor award to Alan B. Diekman, a professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Diekman is a professor in the College of Medicine in the Departments of Urology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Mina Nguyen-Driver has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as a pediatric psychologist at the Schmieding Developmental Center in Springdale and as a professor in the College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. She completed her psychology internship at the University of California Davis Medical Center and her fellowship at the University of California San Francisco Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California.
