Stevenson Seeing Patients at Mercy Clinic in Booneville (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. William Stevenson, a family practitioner, has joined Mercy Family Medicine-Booneville.

Stevenson received his medical degree and his master’s degree in physiology and biophysics from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He completed his residency in family medicine at UAMS-West in Fort Smith.

Dr. Gary Lewis, a radiation oncologist, has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Radiation Oncology Center in Little Rock. He is also an assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology.

Lewis is a graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed an internship at the Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania.

He served as chief resident at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where his residency included rotations at both M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and Houston Medical Hospital.

Dr. Nirmala Parajuli

Dr. Nirmala Parajuli, a scientist at the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute and assistant professor of pharmacology and toxicology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in Little Rock, has received a $300,000 grant from the American Heart Association.

The grant will help fund a protein study that could improve outcomes in kidney transplant patients.
