Chris Cooley, managing director of the medical device research team for Stephens Inc., has been recognized by The Wall Street Journal for his stock-picking record.

Background: Chris Cooley earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Business Administration in finance and operations management from the University of Tennessee.

Experience: In July 2010, Cooley joined Stephens Inc. at its Little Rock office, where as managing director he focuses on the medical device and hospital supply division. Prior to working at Stephens, Cooley spent 10 years at FTN Equity Capital Markets in the research department.

Recognition: The Wall Street Journal ranked Cooley third out of 95 candidates for his stock picking in the medical equipment and supplies category in the 2011 Best on the Street, a survey recognizing the top three stock pickers in 44 industry groups.
