Nathan Gairhan has succeeded John Scott as president of United Bank of Springdale and will soon assume the title of CEO as well.
Background: Nathan Gairhan is a graduate of Jonesboro High School and Arkansas State University at Jonesboro.
Experience: A bank examiner for the Arkansas State Bank Department from 1986-91, Gairhan then spent more than 20 years with First Western Bank in Rogers, the last 14 as regional president.
New Position: Gairhan assumed the title of president of United Bank of Springdale in April from John Scott, who will also relinquish the title of CEO as soon as federal regulators approve. Scott, who announced his plan to leave United Bank in March, called Gairhan "a perfect fit" as his replacement. "He made the list, first of all, because of his reputation in the industry and his reputation in the community," Scott said of Gairhan. "It’s impeccable." United was also "looking for someone who has the necessary banking experience, plus a disproportionate amount of experience working with regulators. He has both, so it was an absolutely perfect fit for us."
