Interior Infrastructure Firm Tate Opens Manufacturing Center in Pocahontas, Plans for More Growth

2 min read

Interior infrastructure firm Tate Inc. of Columbia, Maryland, on Tuesday marked the opening of its new 420,000-SF manufacturing facility in Pocahontas.

Tate offers custom manufacturing capabilities and product lines for floor-to-ceiling solutions for data centers. In Pocahontas, the new manufacturing facility will focus on fabricating steel frames for data centers.

The new site expands Tate’s North American production footprint and strengthens its ability to deliver advanced, high-performance data center solutions at scale, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission said in a news release.

As part of the expansion, the company announced the addition of a new product line and a $4 million investment to support continued growth in the data center sector. The expansion will create 52 new jobs, bringing Tate’s workforce in Pocahontas to 200 employees.

Privately held Tate operates within Kingspan Data Solutions, a division of Ireland-based Kingspan Group PLC. Tate’s clients include the NFL, Boston Children’s Hospital and American Eagle Outfitters.

The state offered Tate the following incentives for the Pocahontas project: the Tax Back program, which provides sales and use tax refunds on the purchase of building materials and taxable machinery; 10 years of the Create Rebate program, an annual cash rebate based on the number of jobs added by a company and targeted wages; and a Community Development Block Grant of up to $2 million.

“Our expansion here in Pocahontas represents a long-term investment in American manufacturing, innovation, and the people who make both possible. With this new facility, we’re strengthening our ability to deliver the next generation of data center solutions while creating meaningful opportunities for the community,” Daniel Kennedy, global president of cloud solutions and innovation for Tate, said in the release.
