Tempo by Hilton Hotel Coming to ArgentaLock Icon

More details have surfaced about a new $25 million hotel in the works for downtown North Little Rock.

We’re told the 120-room project at 118 E. Washington Ave. will rise seven stories with a portion of the new building spanning Poplar Street along Riverfront Drive. The top floor will feature a rooftop bar.

We’re also told the hotel will operate under the Tempo by Hilton banner. That’s a new hospitality name for Arkansas and a recent addition to the Hilton family.

You might recall that Little Rock’s Makan Hospitality is the developer. Construction is expected to start in the fourth quarter and move toward completion in the first half of 2026.

Makan recently assembled land for the project in a series of deals with the city of North Little Rock totaling $1.2 million.

The construction site encompasses the former location of the Greyhound Bus Station at the southwest corner of Washington and Poplar and the northeast corner of Poplar and Riverfront Drive. A nearly 1.5-acre parking lot at the northeast corner of Washington and Poplar rounds out the properties.

The Tempo template fields an arsenal of millennial/Gen Z-targeted amenities. Here’s part of an in-house description:

“Tempo by Hilton is a stylish and contemporary lifestyle hotel brand dedicated to exceeding the expectations of the ambitious, yet balanced, class of discerning traveler — the modern achiever.”
