It’s the moment breakfast lovers have been waiting for. The Bagel Shop will host its grand opening this Saturday, Aug. 5, at 8 a.m.
Located at 1501 S. Main St., the SoMa restaurant has been hotly anticipated since word came earlier this year that the popular pop-up had a brick-and-mortar space in the works. Owners Trevor Papsadora and Myles Roberson amassed a dedicated following over the course of only a year, with customers lining up around the block for a taste of their scratch-made breads and spreads.
“It’s been just over a year since we started our pop-up bagel shop. July 1 marked the one-year anniversary of our first pop-ups in SoMa,” Papsadora says. “It’s a very special and full-circle moment to be opening our shop in the neighborhood where it all began. We live and work here and are proud to be a part of this lively, growing neighborhood.”

The restaurant will offer a walk-in, fast-casual dining experience for breakfast and lunch, and a menu filled with various flavors of bagels, spreads and sandwiches, as well as pastries by Monica Chatterton, the baker behind the popular Flake Baby Pastry. After the grand opening, the owners plan to expand their menu and then to introduce catering and online ordering in the fall.
“Our favorite bagel shops are lively, fun and bustling,” Papsadora says. “We’re so excited to welcome you to the party.”
Saturday’s grand opening will run until they sell out (which, if past pop-ups are any indication, means you should get there early). The shop will also be open on Sunday, then will close for a few days to regroup. After that, regular operating hours will be 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday, and 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
