Thomas Schueck Receives Rector Memorial Award for Distinguished Civic Achievement

1 min read

Thomas B. Schueck, president and CEO of Lexicon Inc. of Little Rock, was recently presented with the 2014 William F. Rector Memorial Award for Distinguished Civic Achievement from Fifty for the Future, a civic organization of Pulaski County business leaders. Given annually, the Rector Award was created in 1976 to recognize people who have exhibited outstanding community leadership and have made significant contributions to Little Rock’s growth and development.

After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1965, Schueck moved to Little Rock to work on Murray Lock & Dam. In 1968 he started Schueck Steel, his first company, which served as a factory representative for various steel products. He methodically moved into the sheet metal business and then into steel fabrication, followed by steel erection and the setting of heavy pieces of equipment and machinery. The leadership of the company grew and developed into a devoted group that understood the importance of the latest technology and, above all, customer service. Under this business plan his companies grew and new companies were founded, companies today billing $335 million and working approximately 4 million man-hours.
