Tom Clifton will serve as the interim dean of the College of Business, Health & Human Services at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Clifton is the director of the UA Little Rock School of Art and Design, where he previously served two years as interim dean of the College of Arts, Letters & Sciences.

John Anderson ( UA System Division of Agriculture)

John Anderson has been elected president of the Southern Agricultural Economics Association for 2024. Anderson is head of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture and the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food & Life Sciences. Anderson will sit on the SAEA executive council for three years, where he will help manage the organization, its annual meeting and the SAEA’s peer-reviewed journal.

Baxter Health of Mountain Home has hired three executives for its senior leadership team. Brian Barnett has been hired as vice president of physician enterprise and business development. Barnett began his career at Baxter Health in 2010 as a nurse tech and has served as director of business development and director of the Mountain Home VA Clinic. Rachel Gilbert has been promoted to vice president, chief nursing officer. Gilbert joined Baxter Health in 2004 as a nurse tech and previously was the nurse director of the women and newborn care center. Tobias Pugsley has been promoted to vice president of marketing and communications. Pugsley joined Baxter Health in 2017 as director of marketing, and has held many previous marketing positions including chief marketing officer for VisionAmp Marketing in Mountain Home.

Dr. Sanjay Maraboyina has been named clinical director of radiation oncology for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Baptist Health Cancer Network. Maraboyina is a radiation oncologist and associate professor in the UAMS Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Santanu Samanta, a radiation oncologist and assistant professor in the UAMS Department of Radiation Oncology, will be the onsite radiation oncology director at the UAMS Baptist Health Cancer Center at the Baptist Health Springhill Medical Plaza in North Little Rock. Samanta will help with radiation oncology, medical oncology and infusion services for most cancer types, as well as determine when to refer more complex cancer treatments to UAMS.
