Twice-Convicted Embezzler Set for Second Early Prison Release

1 min read

Looks like Jeri Qedan, a twice-convicted embezzler, will be a free woman in the next few days.

A scheduled July 26 parole hearing has been canceled, the Arkansas Parole Board said in a message sent through its victim notification service.

We put in a call to the parole board and learned Qedan applied for the early release program and qualified because of good behavior.

The board has reviewed her paperwork and was to make its decision June 19. However, that decision won’t be made public until July 3, a parole board employee told us.

Qedan, 49, has served one year of a 10-year sentence – with 30 years suspended – in state prison for stealing $60,000 from her former employer, a Tontitown-based health care staffing firm called The Right Solutions.

The Fayetteville native, also known as Jeri Freshwater, previously served nine months of a 20-year sentence for stealing $74,000 from another employer, Complete Inc. of Springdale. Eighteen years of that sentence were suspended, and she was eligible for parole after nine months for good behavior.
