Angel Ears Hearing Center recently opened locations in Little Rock and North Little Rock, and owner Linda Bloomfield said business had been good.
Bloomfield suffered a severe hearing loss at the age of 19 and said she developed a passion for helping the hard of hearing as a result. "A lot of people with hearing loss are penalized monetarily," she said. "My heart and passion is to help people get around the money problem."
Angel Ears is dedicated to providing the hearing impaired with affordable hearing aids. Bloomfield said she avoids the huge markups that other centers put on their products.
"I find that when you charge people $6,000 or $7,000, your return is a lot higher," she said. "Our top-of-the-line product is $11,000 [at] other places. … [W]e sell the same product for $4,500 to $6,000," Bloomfield said.
Bloomfield said she’d "like to blanket the state with hearing centers." She already has a property in Heber Springs and is looking at others in Pine Bluff and Hot Springs Village.
In addition to hearing aids, Angel Ears offers in-home testing and service. Bloomfield said she would like to open balance centers as well, where vertigo and dizziness problems can be diagnosed.
