Two New Guides Promote El Dorado Attractions and Dining

2 min read

El Dorado launched two new promotional guides recently to promote itself as South Arkansas’ “Festival City.”

The Diamond Agency, the city’s advertising firm of record, will produce The El Dorado Visitors INFO Guide and El Dorado Dining Guide. The company, led by Don Hale, expects the publications to help tourists navigate the historic oil town’s cultural and culinary highlights. They will also offer insights for anyone traveling in South Arkansas.

Hale described the INFO guide as a condensed but comprehensive 16-page booklet offering snapshots of the city’s attractions. At a glance, it covers arts, entertainment and lodging opportunities, including festivals and historical landmarks.

The El Dorado Dining Guide is a 32-page tour of the city’s 75 diverse dining spots. It includes favorite restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. It also takes behind-the-scene looks at the city’s  servers, cooks and dining establishment owners.

“We noticed a need for a condensed, user-friendly guide that could give potential visitors a snapshot of what makes El Dorado special,” Hale said in a news release. “We’re excited to have produced the El Dorado Visitors’ INFO Guide.” The agency has distributed 10,000 copies across the state, he said.

The Dining Guide’s editor, Katie Sandifer, explained the idea behind that publication. “Our city is fortunate to host a variety of exceptional restaurants,” she said. “We know that food tourism is a powerful draw for man travelers, and we’ve put together a visually enticing guide to attract food lovers to El Dorado.”

The guides are free and available at the El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce. Arkansas Welcome Centers and the Corner Post also stock the booklets. The El Dorado Advertising and Promotion Commission provided funding for the guides. They’re available online at goeldorado.com.
