Two UAMS Instructors Recognized by American Academy of Nursing (Movers & Shakers)

Patricia A. Cowan, dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and Debra Jeffs, adjunct assistant professor in the College of Nursing, were inducted Oct. 22 as Fellows of the American Academy of Nursing in Little Rock.

Before joining UAMS, Cowan was a professor and associate dean for academic and student affairs in the College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.

Jeffs previously worked at Excelsior College in Albany, New York, where she was on the faculty of the graduate program of the School of Nursing.

Dr. James McDonald has been named chair of the Department of Radiology in the College of Medicine at UAMS. McDonald was recently named a fellow of the American College of Radiology.
