Tyler B. Clark has been hired as the new executive director of the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Clark said he witnessed the organization “grow and grow” while he was working at other area nonprofits and that he wanted to continue to improve upon the past successes of the organization. Stating that he firmly believes education is key to fighting poverty, Clark said he wanted to continue to improve the support programs offered to scholarship recipients.
In his first few months on the job, Clark said, he will be reaching out to current and former board members and scholarship recipients, as well as current staff, to learn how he can help improve the nonprofit’s services for single parents in Carroll, Madison and Washington counties.
Clark was previously the community development director at Community Clinic, a nonprofit headquartered in Springdale that has several clinics in northwest Arkansas. Before starting at Community Clinic in 2011, Clark worked at the Jones Center in Springdale and Credit Counseling of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Clark graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Rodney O. Parks, senior director of major and planned gifts at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Foundation, recently received the Crystal Apple Award from the Council for the Advancement & Support of Education.
The award recognizes Parks’ contributions as a speaker and teacher at 10 or more CASE conferences.
James B. Rogers of Dallas has recently joined the board of directors of VIC Technology Venture Development, a technology venture development firm headquartered in Fayetteville.
Rogers serves on several profit and nonprofit company boards and is a member of the North Texas Angel Network.
Alex Blass, vice president of operations in the Rogers office of Sage Partners, has been chosen as a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management 2017 Class of 30 Under 30.
