1 min read

Farmers & Merchants Bank of Stuttgart, which operates eight banks as The Bank of Fayetteville, announced that Tyler Spoon has been promoted to community president in the Fayetteville area.

In his new role, Spoon will oversee the bank’s retail and lending operations in the northwest Arkansas market.

Spoon began his banking career in Fayetteville after retiring in 2018 from Major League Baseball, where he played for the Boston Red Sox for nearly three years.

The Bank of Fayetteville hired him as a commercial loan officer in October 2023.

“I lived in many places across the country during my baseball career, and I feel so blessed to be able to work, live and help people in the greatest place on earth,” Spoon said in a statement. “Northwest Arkansas is an amazing, fast-growing community and I’m honored to be a part of its growth.”
