John R. Tyson, Amy Tu Take New Roles at Tyson Foods

2 min read

John R. Tyson, the son of Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale chairman and former CEO John H. Tyson, has been named CFO of the company in a leadership shakeup announced Tuesday afternoon.

The younger Tyson, who joined the publicly traded meat company in 2019, will continue to lead the company’s enterprise strategy and sustainability activities. He worked in investment banking, private equity and venture capital before joining Tyson Foods in 2019.

John R. Tyson succeeds Stewart Glendinning, who is moving from his role as CFO and executive to vice president to a position as group president of the company’s prepared foods segment.

Glendinning succeeds Noelle O’Mara as head of the meat giant’s prepared foods segment. Tyson Foods said O’Mara has left the company to pursue other opportunities. O’Mara joined Tyson Foods in 2017 from Molson Coors Brewing Co. of Chicago, where he was president and CEO.

In another change in Tyson’s executive ranks, Amy Tu’s position as executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary of global governance and corporate affairs has expanded. She has been named president of the company’s international division and chief administrative officer.

Tu joined Tyson Foods in 2017 as general counsel after holding global leadership roles at Boeing Co. of Arlington, Virginia, and Walmart Inc. of Bentonville.

“These shifts draw on the individual strengths of these leaders and the broad expertise that exists within the company’s management team,” Donnie King, Tyson Foods’ president and CEO, said in a news release.

Tu takes over as president of international after Tyson Foods fired Chris Langholz from the job last month. The company has not commented on the reason for the firing.
