Matt Waller, dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, will receive a Distinguished Service Award from the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals in September.
“I am shocked, honored and thrilled to receive CSCMP’s Distinguished Service Award,” Waller said. CSCMP is a global association for professionals in his field.
The university’s undergraduate supply chain management program was recently ranked the nation’s top program by Gartner, a global research firm. Arkansas’ program had been ranked 15th two years prior.
Waller and John Ozment started the program in 2011. Waller was named a full professor in 2007 and headed the Supply Chain Management Department; he was named interim dean in July 2015 and took over on a permanent basis in May 2016.
The CSCMP’s Distinguished Service Award was started in 1965 to honor individuals for achievements in logistics and supply chain management.
