UA-Pulaski Tech Names Marla Strecker Provost

The University of Arkansas’ Pulaski Technical College on Tuesday hired Marla Strecker of Maumelle as its new provost, effective Sept. 11. Her salary will be $125,000.

Strecker has been senior associate director of academic affairs, research and analytics for the Arkansas Department of Higher Education since January. She joined ADHE in February 2016 as senior associate director for research and analytics.

Before that, Strecker worked at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, where she served as a director three times. She was director of the Higher, Adult & Lifelong Learning graduate program; director of the Educational Leadership graduate program; and director of the Division for Transitional Studies as well as assistant professor of education.

Strecker holds a doctorate of education in higher education leadership from UA Fayetteville and a master’s of liberal arts in English and a bachelor’s of arts in English, both from Henderson State University.
