Education
Elizabeth Underwood has been promoted to associate vice chancellor for government and university relations at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. Before her promotion last month, Underwood served as UAFS’ executive director for government and community relations and also spent seven years as the university’s director of alumni affairs. She will now act as a government liaison for UAFS, as well as oversee the university’s Public Information Office.
Tom Troxel, the associate head of animal science for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, was named a fellow in extension to the American Society of Animal Science during a June conference in Orlando, Florida. The award is reserved for ASAS members who have been in the society for at least 25 years and have offered distinguished service to the field of animal science.
Financial Services
Brice Sisco has been hired by Arvest Bank in Little Rock as vice president and senior private banker. Sisco will manage the financial matters of Arvest’s private banking customers in central Arkansas. He was formerly the vice president of and banking adviser with Merrill Lynch in Little Rock.
John Anderson, Blake Fletcher and Kevin Thompson were appointed by the Arkansas Bankers Association to the 2015-2016 Emerging Leaders Section Council during a June conference in Fayetteville. With 12 years of banking experience, Anderson will serve as the council’s secretary and treasurer. Fletcher, the senior vice president of commercial lending for Arvest Bank in Little Rock, will serve as vice president. Thompson will be the council’s president while continuing to serve as senior vice president of lending at Centennial Bank in Fayetteville.
Health Care
Dr. Ezekiel Shotts has joined NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro and will participate in a new service line, a Musculoskeletal Procedure Clinic. Shotts, a radiologist, specializes in image-guided procedures to help alleviate pain and treat various conditions.
Sue Carlsen has joined Oleen Pinnacle Healthcare Consulting of Little Rock as the firm’s vice president and chief financial officer. Carlsen will be based in Dallas. With 30 years of finance and accounting experience, holding executive positions during 15 of those years, Carlsen will provide financial leadership for OPHC’s national consulting services, which specialize in information technologies and operations in the health care industry.
Dr. Yalcin Hacioglu, a cardiologist, is now accepting patients at CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas at 10100 Kanis Road in Little Rock. Hacioglu specializes in interventional and nuclear cardiology.
Technology
Brett Brownderville has been hired as a senior systems engineer for the Little Rock office of NetGain Technologies, an information technology company. Brownderville will be responsible for all NetGain IT projects.
