Rene Shroat-Lewis and Jessica Scott have received the Sustain the Rock Award from the Little Rock Sustainability Commission. Both are professors at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Scott is associate director of the Donaghey Scholars Honors Program, and Shroat-Lewis is an associate professor of geology. They won the award for their teaching of a two-semester class in the Donaghey program that focuses on sustainability, climate change and reduction of carbon footprints as well as green initiatives that are viable for the city of Little Rock.

Elizabeth Davidson has been promoted to professor in the School of Nursing at UA Little Rock. Angela Hunter has been promoted to professor in the Department of English. Belinda Blevins-Knabe has been promoted to distinguished professor in the Department of Psychology. Kirk Leach has been promoted to associate professor with tenure in the School of Public Affairs. Jana McAuliffe has been promoted to associate professor with tenure in the Department of Philosophy & Interdisciplinary Studies. J. Bradley Minnick has been promoted to professor in the Department of English at the university. Aaron Schwabach has been promoted to professor with tenure in the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. Derek Slagle has been promoted to associate professor with tenure in the School of Public Affairs. Daryl Tate has been promoted to associate professor with tenure in the School of Education.
Zachary Singleton has joined Black River Technical College of Pocahontas as an academic adviser. Singleton has experience as an academic adviser at Arkansas State University.
Shane Speights, dean of the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, has been named chair of the Board of Deans of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. Speights will be involved in the association and its leadership to help keep connections between the board and member colleges successful.
Jennifer Daniel Brezee has been appointed director of operations for the Arkansas market at CareSource PASSE of Dayton, Ohio. She will oversee operational plans and initiatives, lead business reviews with stakeholders, ensure market requirements are met and collaborate with other leaders in Arkansas.
