Dr. Lauren Story-Hefta has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock as an assistant professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery in the College of Medicine’s Department of Surgery. She graduated from UAMS, where she completed her residency in vascular surgery, and will treat vascular conditions such as peripheral vascular disease, aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, venous disease and hemodialysis access.
Dr. Jeffrey Carfagno and his practice, the Carfagno Family Practice of Maumelle, have joined the CHI St. Vincent Medical Group of Little Rock. The practice has been open since 2007 and will now be known as CHI St. Vincent Primary Care-Maumelle. Carfagno has 34 years of experience and earned his medical degree and completed his residency in family practice at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Ouachita County Medical Center of Camden has welcomed two new doctors. Dr. Michael Campbell will handle obstetrical and gynecological needs. He has over 20 years of experience in Texas and graduated from the Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock. Dr. Cimenga Tshibaka has joined the hospital as a general surgeon. He specializes in abdominal surgery, some vascular and general thoracic surgery, endoscopic procedures and minimally invasive surgery.
Joann Cain has joined the Baptist Health Cardiology Center in Fort Smith. Cain has more than 25 years of critical care nursing experience and previously worked at Sparks Health System of Fort Smith and Van Buren. She is an advanced practice registered nurse and earned her Master of Science in nursing in 2021.
Eldrina Easterly has been promoted to vice president of communications and strategy at the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care of Little Rock. She was previously serving as director of communications, strategy and business development at the health care nonprofit.
