
Dr. Julie M. Riley has been invested in the Hal Reed Black, M.D. Chair in Urology by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in Little Rock. Riley is a professor and vice chair in the UAMS Department of Urology.

Dr. Fauzia Akbary has been hired as an obstetrician and gynecologist at St. Bernards OB-GYN Associates of Jonesboro. She previously was an obstetrician and gynecologist at Jefferson Regional OB/GYN Associates.

Dr. Mohammad Al-Sarie has been hired at CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas-North Little Rock. He recently completed his interventional cardiology fellowship through the Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia.

Dr. Ryan Banning has been hired as a general surgeon at Baptist Health-Fort Smith. He recently completed a general surgery residency at ChristianaCare in Newark, Delaware.

Charles “Chuck” Copeland has been honored with the Jack Williams Award for First Responders, representing North Arkansas Regional Medical Center EMS of Harrison. He is the communications chief for NARMC EMS, where he oversees the EMS dispatch center and the organization’s entire communications system.

Dr. Christen Johnson has been hired at Baptist Health Heart Institute/Arkansas Cardiology Clinic-North Little Rock. She completed her medical education at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

Tony Kempisty has been promoted to director of network development at CareSource PASSE of Little Rock. He was previously senior contracting manager for the company. Additionally, Jessica Lawson has been hired as director of pharmacy. Her responsibilities will include working with state regulators, local pharmacists and enterprise partners to expand and develop innovations on behalf of members.

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center of Harrison has announced new hires. Loren Lomax has been appointed director of surgical services. Zachary Reed has been hired as nursing manager for the center’s intensive care and medical surgical units. Bailey Savage has been hired as an advanced practice registered nurse. Taesha Winford has been hired to the health care team.
