UAMS Names Chase Smith New Assistant Professor (Movers & Shakers)

Dr. Chase Smith has joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedics in the College of Medicine. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He earned his medical degree from UAMS in 2010.

Dr. Joseph G. Chacko, professor of ophthalmology and neurology in the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in Little Rock, was invested last month in the Sally McSpadden Boreham Chair in Ophthalmology. The chair is supported with donations of $1 million, and the chair holder may use the interest proceeds for research, teaching or service activities. Chacko has more than two decades of experience as an ophthalmologist.
